MJ J. Altidor Domond has experience in social and family services, media, and the nonprofit sector. She has an educational background in psychology and law and has served the Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami Dade tri-county communities through her roles as community organizer, entrepreneur, author, and radio and talk show host. MJ has served as a Neighborhood Organizer for the City of Delray Beach, as a Case Manager, Community Involvement Specialist, and as the volunteer Executive Director for H.A.N.D of Delray Beach working with middle school children and assisting immigrants to adapt and transition. MJ also has extensive experience in juvenile-at-risk counseling, domestic violence counseling, drug education and prevention, parental advising, and HIV testing, counseling, and education.
She has provided her talents to the legal field working as a legal document translator and immigration specialist. MJ has experience in the media as a radio and talk show host and creator of the Connections public affairs series on WPBT Channel 2 PBS in Miami, Florida. A universal affair with a Caribbean flair, the concept connects the gap between people as well as entertains and informs. MJ is a regular guest host on South Florida radio stations 740 AM, 1470 AM, 980 AM, and 97.7 FM and is currently working on a new radio show for 1480 AM which will air September 2009. Public speaking and literature are also fields that she has considerable experience in as the author of a memoir, a children's book, reflective dialogues, and as a freelance writer.
MJ is the founder and President of MJAD Global Media Inc. and Fly Like an Eagle Productions. Promoting, creating, and producing short films, true-life motion pictures, documentaries, and books bringing everyday stories to life.
She has shared her expertise and her compassionate heart with a multitude of organizations and causes. Some of those organizations and causes include Camillus House as a volunteer, The Milagro Center as a parent advocate, The Haitian American Center as a volunteer, The Living Arts Movement as a multicultural marketing consultant, the Delray Beach Police Department as a volunteer and youth basketball assistant, and College Tour and Preparation, and Community Chat and Teen Summit as a volunteer. She is currently working on a wide scale project to promote nutrition and education in Haiti, labeled FACELESS: No More, and a barrier-breaking documentary that will allow people to see people from a different view. MJ lives in Florida with her four children.
